‘We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling in a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over. So in a series of kindnesses there is, at last, one which makes the heart run over.’ James Boswell.
Friendships are all about thoughtfulness – and as with watering a plant, it is kind deeds that allow a relationship to grow. Often it is the small everyday things that really show you care. It could be helping a friend study or it could be sharing something you own. It could be cooking a meal and inviting your friends over. It could be organising a working bee at a friend’s property to help them fix up their garden. The thoughtful acts you can do for a friend are without end.
There are many more examples in my book LOVE IN AOTEAROA. What kind deed are you going to do for someone this week?
